Dosage
To achieve the maximum therapeutic effect from consuming CBD oil, it is necessary to calculate the dosage correctly and adhere to certain rules, which we will discuss below.
What to pay attention to:
- Purpose of intake. Before starting CBD intake, determine the result you want to achieve: reducing anxiety, improving sleep, enhancing overall mood, pain relief, and so on. This will allow you to calculate the necessary dose and frequency of taking the medication.
- Choosing the right concentration. The content of cannabidiol in different CBD products varies from 5 to 30 percent, and sometimes even higher. Accordingly, the higher the concentration of CBD, the less oil or other product is needed to achieve the desired result.
- Calculating the dose based on the patient's weight. There is a general rule: for every 10 kilograms of a person's weight, 1 to 6 milligrams of cannabidiol are needed. However, depending on the desired result and individual body characteristics, these figures may vary.
- Start with a smaller dose. It is recommended to start taking cannabidiol with a minimum dose, gradually increasing it to achieve the desired result.
- Be patient. The effect of using CBD is not always immediate. Some patients may need several days or even weeks of regular intake to feel a noticeable effect.
- Consider your health condition. If you have chronic illnesses or are taking medication, it is necessary to consult with your doctor beforehand.
Gradual dosage increase
The strategy of gradual increase when using cannabidiol involves starting with minimal doses at the beginning of intake and then increasing them until the desired effect is achieved. This method is also ideal for beginners.
Advantages of the method:
- Safety. The optimal dose of CBD can vary for each person. By starting with a small dose, you minimize the risk of side effects.
- Economy. This method allows you to avoid excessive consumption of CBD and save money for the consumer.
- Individual approach. Gradual increase allows everyone to determine their ideal dose.
CBD Microdosing
Microdosing involves taking small amounts of cannabidiol to achieve therapeutic effects without significant side effects.
Microdose: from 0.5 to 20 mg of CBD per intake per day (CBD/dose/day)
Microdoses are usually recommended for the following conditions:
- Sleep disturbances: insomnia, periodic awakenings at night or early morning awakenings.
- Headaches: migraines, tension headaches.
- Mood swings: short episodes of depression or hysteria.
- Nausea and menopausal symptoms.
- PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder): anxiety attacks, night terrors, sudden fits of anger.
- Stress and anxiety: periodic anxiety attacks or a constant feeling of tension.
- Metabolic disorders: problems with metabolism of various etiologies.
For microdosing, a 5% CBD concentration is most suitable. When using oil, it should be noted that one drop of 5% oil contains approximately 2 mg of CBD. Thus, for example, to get a dose of 6 mg of CBD, three drops of oil should be taken.
Standard CBD dose
Standard dosing is recommended for more serious or chronic conditions.
The choice of CBD oil dosage should be based on individual needs and expert recommendations. Start with a smaller dose and gradually increase it to the optimal amount, evaluating your feelings and health condition.
Standard dose: from 10 mg to 100 mg of CBD per dose per day.
This dosage is recommended for the following conditions:
- Chronic pain: long-lasting pain.
- Inflammation: conditions related to inflammatory processes in the body.
- Autoimmune disorders: when the immune system attacks its own cells.
- Lyme disease: an infectious disease caused by the Borrelia bacterium.
- Nervousness: a constant feeling of tension and anxiety.
- Depression: mood disorders that cause a constant feeling of sadness and loss of interest.
- Fibromyalgia: a chronic disease characterized by muscle pain.
- Multiple sclerosis: a disease of the central nervous system.
- Autism: nervous system disorders affecting communication and social skills.
- Crohn's disease and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome): chronic inflammatory bowel diseases.
- Rheumatoid arthritis: a chronic inflammatory joint disease.
For the standard dose, a CBD concentration of 15% or 20% is recommended.
One drop of 15% CBD oil contains 6 mg of CBD, and one drop of 20% oil contains 8 mg of CBD.
For 15% oil: the recommended dosage can be 3 drops 3 times a day, equaling 54 mg of CBD per day.
For 20% oil: 3 drops 3 times a day will provide an intake of 72 mg of CBD per day.
Using CBD oil: step-by-step instructions
CBD oil is a natural product derived from hemp extract. Using it correctly will allow you to achieve the best positive effect on the body. Here's how to do it:
- Timing: Take the oil 30 minutes before a meal. After using the oil, it is not recommended to eat or drink anything for half an hour. This ensures maximum absorption and enhances the action of the oil's components
- Filling the dropper with oil: Open the bottle and carefully draw the required amount into the dropper provided.
- Sublingual intake: carefully place the required number of drops of oil under the tongue. Holding the oil under the tongue improves its absorption through the oral mucosa, providing a quick effect.
- Waiting: Keep the oil under your tongue for at least 1-2 minutes. During this time, the active components of the oil begin to be actively absorbed.
Final stage: Swallow the remaining oil. If you don't like the taste, you can rinse it down with a glass of water after half an hour.
